When we become aware of the kind of mind activties we are involved in on daily basis, we can realize that judging everyone and everything around us is one of the key things we do which consumes us massively. Judging is indeed important for the things we want to deal with in our lives but in reality we judge everything we encounter everyday as if we are the ultimate judge of this universe. Simple things like someone in different costumes or having different way of talking or acting, we label them quickly into the wierdo category for example. Others who have certain weaknesses and can’t do better in their work, we call them bad and we move on.

But what could labels like these help us to do?! Where is the peace in judging everyone and everything around us in this negative way? The answer is clear: there is no peace in any judging unless its purpose is to serve and support someone, or to improve or make something better.

Therefore for all other situations, we need to train ourselves into accepting the differences and accepting the fact that people are different from us and that they cannot and will not be our way. The alternative in these situations is to accept people without any judgement and sending them love and peace.

“When I am able to resist the temptation to judge others, I can see them as teachers of forgiveness in my life, reminding me that I can only have peace of mind when I forgive rather than judge.” Gerald Jampolsky
